Magical Places - Washington D.C. travel
Washington D.C Photos   Today's Weather
Map of Washington D.C. I love D.C. - so rich with history and reverence to those who gave their lives for the good of the United States.

Majestic classical architecture fills every road as far as the eye can see, commanding respect and summoning awe.

Though stately and formal, the city's manicured lawns and abundant greenery add life to all the stone and marble, and its pink cherry blossoms bless the city with a cheerful beauty...

The White House & Treasury Department

The White House The White House - which I've seen countless times on tv - here only a few steps away.

Obama held a conference that night, and the grounds were all lit up with reporters coming to participate...Very exciting to think this is where the important U.S. decisions are made...

The Treasury Department The Treasury Department Right next to the White House is the Treasury Department. Such beautiful architecture, especially with the green grass on either side...
The Treasury Department - and turning around to view the plaza...this was late March, so most trees were still bare (but at least the weather was beautiful!
Bush A picture is worth a thousand words...
International visitors to Washington DC should consider travel insurance

The National Gallery of Art

National Gallery of Art My second favorite building (after the Lincoln Memorial) is the The National Gallery of Art (west). It resembles a beautiful Roman temple...
National Gallery of Art The view from the opposite side, a little farther away
National Gallery of Art Climbing the steps to the grand entrance
National Gallery of Art Some of the pillars at the top - oh I love this place!
National Gallery of Art The people are nearly dwarfed by the scale...

National Gallery of Art The National Gallery of Art (east) as seen from the outside. This gallery is much more modern than the west side.
National Gallery of Art Walking along Madison Avenue - you can see the Washington Monument in the distance
